WHAT IS A CERTIFIED LIFE-CYCLE CELEBRANT®?

Meg McSweeney is a graduate of the Celebrant Foundation & Institute, where she undertook a rigorous course of study, and became certified as a Life-Cycle Celebrant. Additionally, Meg earned specialty certifications in Weddings, Funerals and Ceremonies of Healings and Transitions.

Life-Cycle Celebrants create ceremonies that are a genuine expression of the client/honoree being celebrated. Each ceremony is a unique reflection of a personal rite of passage, transition or celebration. Life-Cycle Celebrants create ceremonies that are life affirming and empowering. Alumni of CF&I adhere to the Celebrant Foundation & Institute’s Code of Ethics and Professionalism.

HOW IS A CELEBRANT CREATED CEREMONY DIFFERENT?

Celebrants create personal, one-of-kind ceremonies based on the honorees’ personal stories. Story-telling, ritual and symbolism are combined to produce a ceremony that reflects the clients’ personality, values and beliefs.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF CREATING A PERSONALIZED CEREMONY?

First, we schedule a complimentary no obligation consultation to discuss the ceremony you have in mind. If we decide that we’re a good fit and want to work together, Standing on Ceremony will quote a fee and present you with an agreement.

If you sign on and pay the deposit, Meg will get to work with you to design the perfect ceremony for you. This does require some commitment from you.

For Meg to deliver the ceremony you desire by the desired date, you’re going to have to commit to a pre-agreed schedule of interviews and conferences and the completion of a questionnaire, so that Meg can gather all the information she will need to thoroughly personalize your ceremony.

ARE YOU A MINISTER?
Meg is registered as a minister with the Universal Brotherhood Movement, Inc. so that she can legally preside over weddings. Through life experience and education, she has been exposed to many religions and cultural traditions, but the religious/spiritual content of your ceremonies is entirely up to the clients. There can be a little, a lot, or none at all.
HOW IS THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC AFFECTING HOW YOU WORK AND CEREMONIES IN GENERAL?

The pandemic is real, and until the CDC tells us it’s over, Meg will proceed cautiously for your safety, for your guests’ safety, and for her own safety. Meg is fully vaccinated. Since the pandemic started, we’ve all made the adjustments required by these challenging times, and Meg will work with you to ensure that your special event is memorable for the beautiful ceremony at its center, and not because it’s where people got sick.

To this end, Meg will inquire of her clients’ vaccine status, and have a conversation about the likelihood that guests will be vaccinated. When trust is built through our introductory conversations, mutually accepted compliance with pandemic protocols will be enshrined in the contract for Meg’s services.
